Bono phones in to The Gay Byrne Show on RTE to discuss the 1989 Oscar winning film My Left Foot. The call is from Los Angeles on the night of the Oscars, and Bono is decidedly excited about My Left Foot having won major awards and traveling around America. Bono, WAPP Hot 103 New York

A classic Bono interview from the Unforgettable Fire era. Bono visits WAPP Hot 103 FM and talks with DJ Rufus. This is one of Bono’s more intense interviews where he is focused on the topic of religion. Special thanks to Sue Fell for providing this interview. This interview dates to the Unforgettable Fire Tour, most likely early April 1985 during the 4th leg of the tour.

The Call, Greenbelt Festival 90

A very short interview with members of The Call at Greenbelt Festival 1990. The Greenbelt Festival is a festival of Christian rock bands held since 1974 in the UK. During the interview, The Call band members discuss working with Bono and T-Bone Burnett to create a demo for “Slow Dancing”, a song U2 would later record twice in the studio (once alone, and once with Willie Nelson). Edge on RTE2 FM

In January 1990, just after Bono’s famous “dream it all up again” speech at Dublin’s Point Depot, Edge sits down with Russian Journalist Artemy Troitsky. This interview was then rebroadcast on RTE2 FM with their DJ providing the questions and commentary for Edge’s answers. Special thanks to Sue Fell for providing this interview. KROQ U2 PopMart Invasion (3 parts)

This was a nationwide radio broadcast to coincide with the launch of the U2 MSN website. At the time, the band were in Los Angeles on tour, and stopped by KROQ with longtime DJ Jed The Fish. This is the “extended version” of the interview since it includes a segment before the nationwide broadcast was due to begin AND a segment after the nationwide broadcast was due to end. All four members of the band were on the air for over two hours at KROQ (this edited version is over 90 minutes).  First broadcast June 20th, 1997.

Bono interview with VARA Netherlands
